Wisdom Found In A Recipe Book From a Garage Sale

Cookbooks I bought from Garage Sales

A small collection of recipe books
 collect from garage sales

Sometimes people go to garage sales to hunt for "treasures".  People hunt for antiques or that one thing that they can't live without.  I look for things that will enhance me and my families lives.  I am ALWAYS a sucker for those cookbooks that are put together by groups and sold to profit a charity.  It is a collection of recipes from those that submit their very BEST recipe they know.   I have found many recipes that I consider "gems" from those kinds of recipe books.

OH SO WONDERFUL COOKIES ( NO NUTS)!

These are the Disappearing Cookies

My friend Marlo is one of the very best cooks and bakers that I know.  Everything that comes out of her kitchen is amazing!  One day, Marlo and I were chatting about the Famous Neiman Marcus Cookie Recipe.  I told her that I was about to make them and she mentioned that she loved those cookies but her kids have nut allergies and cannot have them.  We started to brain storm...

Upcycle A Wine Rack

Wine Rack Transformation
I stumbled across this unique looking piece at a garage sale last summer.
The person selling the item explained to me that it was a wine rack. I knew I loved the lines and thought I could transform this into a work of art.  That is exactly what I did.
