These are the Disappearing Cookies

My friend Marlo is one of the very best cooks and bakers that I know.  Everything that comes out of her kitchen is amazing!  One day, Marlo and I were chatting about the Famous Neiman Marcus Cookie Recipe.  I told her that I was about to make them and she mentioned that she loved those cookies but her kids have nut allergies and cannot have them.  We started to brain storm...

...and she thought that instead of adding nuts, we add Butterscotch Chips.  I made them that way and it was a WINNER!!

Here are the Ingredients you'll need:

This is the dry flour ingredients mixed together

This Bowl has the Brown and white sugar mixed together

This large Bag hold chocolate and Butterscotch chips and grated Hersey bars

Mixing the ingredients together

Adding the bag of Chips and Chocolate by hand

Roll into balls and place on cookie sheets

Well worth the time and effort!

Neiman Marcus Cookies Marlo's Way Recipe:

2 cups Butter
24 oz. Chocolate Chips
24 oz. Butterscotch Chips
4 cups Flour
2 cups Brown Sugar
2 cups Sugar
2 tsp. Baking Soda
1 tsp. Salt
1 (8 oz) Hershey Bar (grated)
5 cups blended Oatmeal
4 Eggs
2 tsp. Baking Powder
2 tsp. Vanilla
Measure Oatmeal and then put into blender or food processor to a fine powder.
Cream butter and both sugars.  Add eggs and vanilla.
Mix together flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder and baking soda.
Add to the butter mixture .  Add Chocolate and butterscotch chips and Hersey bar.
Roll into balls and place 2 inches apart on the cookie sheet.

Bake 10-13 minutes at 375 degrees.  Makes 112 cookies.

This does make a lot of cookies.  Recipe can be 1/2  OR make it all and FREEZE for later (you'll be happy you did) .

Happy Garage Sale!!
