EASY Homemade Toffee using Saltine Crackers

Toffee made with Saltine Crackers!

Great Treat to Giveaway!

These are the ingredients that you'll need

Line large cookie sheet with foil.

Take about 40 saltine crackers and lay them flat in the foiled cookie sheet.

Melt your butter and sugar together and bring to boil.

Spread the caramel sauce on top of crackers

Put in oven for 10 minutes

Crackers float to the top while backing

Add Chocolate Chips and let stand for 5 minutes

Spread smooth and can sprinkle with Sea Salt if desired

Homemade Toffee

1 pound REAL butter (NO MARGARINE) 
1 cup Brown Sugar
2 cups Milk Chocolate Chips
40 Saltine Crackers 
Sea Salt to taste

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Line 12 x 17 inch cookie sheet with foil.  Lay a flat layer with crackers.  Melt the sugar and butter together until boil is reached.  Reduce and simmer for 5-6 minutes. Pour this mixture over the crackers evenly.  Bake 10 minutes until toffee is bubbly.  Take out of oven and spread milk chocolate chips evenly and let sit for 5 minutes until they are soft to spread smooth. This is when you put on Sea Salt if you desire.  Let cool (can be refrigerated).  I use a pizza cutter to cut or break apart. 
I make these treats around the holidays and give away to family and friends.  I have many requests for these every year!
