Homemade Macaroni and Cheese (NO Velveeta)

Homemade Macaroni and Cheese on the Stove top

First start by adding water, milk and butter together in pan

Measure 1 cup of elbow noodles...add to mixture above.

Take 1/2 a block of 8oz cheese and dice (do NOT shred)

Bring to a boil

Heat on simmer for 12 minutes

Add cheese blocks and stir






Ingredients:

1 cup uncooked macaroni (elbow) noodles
1 cup water
1/2 cup milk
2 Tablespoons butter
1/4 teaspoon salt 
4 oz. sharp cheddar cheese, cubed (1/2 of an 8 oz. block, not shredded!)

Directions:

1.  Stir water, milk, butter, salt, and uncooked pasta in 2-quart saucepan. Heat to boiling, stirring frequently. 

2.  Reduce heat. Simmer uncovered about 12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender. 

3.  Add cheese, stirring constantly, until cheese is melted and sauce is thick and creamy.
